In a story that sounds utterly unbelievable, an 82-year-old homeless man found himself “moo-ving” into the afterlife thanks to a cow. While relieving himself next to a train track in the Midwest, a fast-moving freight train struck a cow on the tracks, sending the bovine to greener pastures.
Flying 30 feet into the air — quite a feat for a 1,100 lbs performer — the cow collided with the man (killing him instantly) who stood in disbelief and mid-relief.
The next time you are tempted to answer nature’s call near a train track, remember: sometimes the cow jumps over the moon, and sometimes the cow jumps onto you!
Though unsettling, this strange story offers a profound reminder that life can be unpredictable, and our time on earth fleeting. But for those who believe in Jesus, Philippians 3:20-21 offers a glorious promise: “Our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.”
Our earthly bodies may be temporary, but our true home awaits. In Heaven, we will be transformed, receiving new bodies that perfectly reflect God’s glory. This promise should fill us with hope! No matter the challenges we face here on earth, we have an eternal inheritance waiting for us. So don’t be discouraged by the temporary troubles of this world. Fix your eyes on Heaven, and take comfort in knowing that Jesus is our Savior, and He will one day bring us home. — Calvin, Managing Editor of the Cool Ghoul Gazette
